This article describes how to troubleshooting the issue
Error's:
" vSphere HA host status"
"vSphere HA agent for this host has an error : vSphere HA agent cannot be installed or configure"
"Cannot install the vCenter server agent service. "Unknown installer error"
Recently I encountered the issue, one of the Esxi host having the issue.
As part of troubleshooting following the below steps:-
> Disable the HA from cluster and Enabled on cluster.
> Not resolved the issue.
> Migrate all vm's to another host.
> Placed the esxi host as maintenance mode.
> Disconnected and reconnected back but not fixed the issue.
> Still issue has persistent even restarted the esxi host.
Issue has been fixed after removed the fdm VIB.
> Login ESXI host via putty session.
> Run the below command
root@esx0008:- # esxcli software vib remove -n vmware-fdm
Removal Result
Message: Operation finished successful
Reboot required: false
VIBs installed:
VIB's Removed: Vmware_bootbank_vmware-fdm_7.0.3-19480900
VIB's skipped:
> Re-enabled the HA from cluster.
> HA status is showing as configured on esxi host.
