VMware vSAN (formerly Virtual SAN) is a hyper-converged, software-defined storage (SDS) product developed by VMware that pools together direct-attached storage devices across a VMware vSphere cluster to create a distributed, shared data store.

How to check vSan health status by using command line in vCenter.

Take a putty session of vCenter.

root@vCenter-01 [ ~ ]# cd /var/log/vmware

root@vCenter-01 [ /var/log/vmware ]# ls

     



root@vCenter-01 [ /var/log/vmware ]# cd vsan-health

root@vCenter-01 [ /var/log/vmware/vsan-health ]# ls

                  


root@vCenter-01 [ /var/log/vmware/vsan-health ]# ls -alhr | grep vmware-vsan-health-summary




root@vCenter-01 [ /var/log/vmware/vsan-health ]# less -i vmware-vsan-health-summary-result.log
