When installing/modify the VMware tools getting the error

 

When installing/modify the VMware tools getting the below error and unable to proceed further step.

Issue:  The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

 

Follow the below steps:

 

Ø  >  Make sure take snapshot or backup of the vm.

Ø  > Take a RDP/console of VM.

Ø  > Open a REGEDIT on search.

Ø  > Go to HKEY_CLASSIS_ROOT\Installers\Products

Ø   > Verify the product name as VMware tools.( veirfy all folders one by one till find vmware tools)

Ø  > Delete the entire key(folder) under HKEY_CLASSIS_ROOT\Installers\Products for that UniqueID Key

Ø  > Rerun upgrade installation package

 

> Once deleted the folder, install the VMware (mount the ISO in vm settings)
