How to Upgrade the Esxi host through command line

 Why upgrade?

VMware ESXi latest versions a lot of new features.

How to Upgrade the Esxi host through command line.

1. SSH should be enabled.

2. Take a putty session of the ESXi host.

Collect the Esxi host details and run the below commands.

>> Host Details :
[root@ESXI01:~] hostname -i
10.10.61.151

[root@ESXI01:~] hostname
ESXI01

[root@ESXI01:~] vmware -vl

VMware ESXi 6.5.0 build-11925212
VMware ESXi 6.5.0 Update 2

[root@ESXI01:~] date
Sat Mar 20 01:58:17 U

We have to take a backup of the host configuration and find the below links for steps.

Once done,  please upload the ISO image to any datastore which is accessible ESXi host.

 Ran the following commands to upgrade the host :
