I recently started looking at prerequisites to a vSphere 7 upgrade, by reviewing the associated upgrades that might be needed. NSX Manager was one product that needed to be upgraded prior to this. As per VMware compatibility, vCenter 7x supported to NSX latest version.
Pre-requisite :-
> Take a snapshot of VM (NSX manager VM).
> Take a backup/clone the VM before start upgrade.
> Collect all details like (IP and configuration)
Click here download NSX manager appliance.
Upgrade process:-
> Login NSX manager appliance
> Browse to the NSX Manager and log in as admin.
> From the home page click Upgrade.
> Click Upload Bundle and browse to the upgrade bundle downloaded earlier, click Continue.
> Once the bundle is uploaded you can (optional) select to enable SSH and/or join the Customer Experience Improvement Program. Click Upgrade to start the upgrade
> The installer will now upgrade NSX Manager, once complete you will be returned to
login page
> wait for some time and NSX manager installing.
> Log back into NSX Manager and click Upgrade. Verify the upgrade state is complete and the version number is correct. Click Summary and verify the health of the NSX Manager
> Make sure all services should be start state .
> You should reconnect the lookup service URL and vCenter from NSX manager.
> Edit and enter password to confirmation.
,> Login vCenter and verify the all components and version details.
> it should be latest version.
> Validate the which components are need to be upgrade.> In my environment, we should upgrade Guest interspection .
> Go to installation and upgrade and choose service deployment option.
> verify which are upgrade available Guest introspection cluster. click upgrade available.
> Confirmation option, it takes sometime to upgrade GI vm's.
> It will upgraded GI VM's. To perform the health checks.
